Good evening everyone! We missed you last month because of Scone Game Fair but we are heading to Perth on Saturday with large & small oysters. Still no mussels yet I'm afraid.
Oban is so busy despite the changeable weather - no two days are the same. But no-one comes to Argyll because of the weather!! Last night Mark Beaumont gave a very interesting talk in town - he has spent the past ten days in Argyll, exploring and enjoying all the activities available in the area - mountain biking, quad biking, sea kayaking, climbing, hill running and wild water swimming. It is part of a promotion for Argyll and we are looking forward to the final edit.
Look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

This must be the latest reminder I've sent to you!!
We've had the busiest, sunniest month!! Oban Live was a great success - and last weekend we had our more modest Festival of the Sea. We had Graham Campbell from the Castlehill Restaurant in Dundee cook his signature dish of halibut, scallops and lobster for us and Paul Leonard from Isle of Eriska Hotel, deep fried oysters in a sourdough batter - something I have not tried before. Both weekends were blessed with glorious weather and it continues ......
So tomorrow I'll be back at Perth Farmers' Market but with no mussels I'm afraid. And a reminder that I won't be at the market in July as I attend Scone Game Fair - though I know I see some of you there.
Hope you are all well and in some way getting to enjoy the sunshine!
Take care, Judith

Hello everyone! Another month has passed and it seems to have gone very slowly! But May is now here and it is warmer - just. Hope to see you on Saturday - Perth is having a Beer Festival that day too!
Next weekend it is Oban Live - a two day festival with Aly Bain & Phil Cunningham, KT Tunstall, Capercaillie and Skerryvore to mention a few. And I'll be there with oysters and hopefully Mussel Soup if I can jump through enough EHO hoops! Check out the festival on www.obanlive.com I know there are tickets left.
And on the weekend of the 28 & 29 May it is Oban's Festival of the Sea - with seafood, sea-themed crafts, talks on marine life and cookery demonstrations by top chefs. www.obanseafestival.org
Oban is the place to be in May, unless you are in Perth on Saturday, 7 May!!
Best wishes, Judith
